“I'm a cold blooded killer, a monster without a voice. I'll do whatever it takes to have my little demon, even if I have to drag her through hell myself”

Holy. Shit. So PLEASE PLEASE read the triggers of this book before even starting it. Like I don’t beg, but I’m begging. While I have no triggers, a went blind into it - if you are new to the horror/dark genre, please checking the fucking triggers. This book is absolutely not for everyone.

I can maybe name five books that had given me a reading experience like this. You know, where I couldn't stop turning the pages while simultaneously feeling like my stomach was knotted up and still somehow, completely in was like GOD DAMN i love this MMC and FMC. Silas and Iris are something else, and I mean that in the BEST (maybe worse) way possible, I guess it really depends on how you feel about this genre.

This book has stuck in my mind mainly for the writing and yes also the horror / gore and the characters but mainly the way it’s written. It sticks with you. I say that because the POV shifts from first person to third person POV and so forth. Now I don’t usually do third-person POV. It’s a preference of mine not to honestly, but I really wanted to read this book, so I gave it a try. And it really and honestly gave the book a different edge that I feel most third-person POVs miss and it really just added to the sense of detachment while still making all the twists and turns remind me of the first time on a roller coaster.

This is a totally pitch-black, gory, erotic horror that pushes boundaries and pushes you mentally. And I don’t say that lightly.

Also the spice do be spicy. It is unfiltered and RAW. The scenes just show the raw passion and heat. Intensity is an understatement honestly but it just vibes so hard with these characters.

Now you all know by now if I am doing a review — the book really is worth a read, and is definitely for the ones more wanting to walk on that pitch black side. But you also know I always keep my reviews SPOILER FREE.

But I am not above dropping some tropes for you guys so like, here ya go :

  • haunted inheritance

  • stalker MMC

  • obsession/ possession

  • forced proximity

  • erotic horror

  • morally corrupt MMC

So take what you will from this review, and see if you dare to dive into this book. Just maybe keep a trash can near, and maybe… like don’t snack while reading it if you get a little sqimish during horror/gore movies?
