This is only my second MM book and I’m two for two BABYYYY!!! This is book one in the Vile House Series and it follows Remiel & Krypt aka the purple mask. Boy does a man in a mask do it for meeee.

In this small town all things strange, creepy, and unexplainable happen. This town is called Moros and situated right in the middle of town is an old psychiatric facility. The facility has turned into an attraction of sorts, said to house the secret society that has been in this town since the beginning. One night when Remi can’t take it anymore he runs to this old building he has always avoided, that building is Vile House. For generations there has been a curse on the men in Remi’s family. As he is being chased by someone trying to push him to his demise he runs into Vile House to make a bargain to save his life, because these men live by the motto “Virtue in Lives Exchanged”. He enters and is led to a room with 10 masked men. Only one steps up to take his bargain, purple mask.

So begins the chaos that is Remi & Krypt. This book is a rollercoaster in the best way, Krypt has zero people skills and no remorse to be found and Remi is a misunderstood musician trying to save not only himself but also his brother and all the men to come in his family. They both have things they need to learn from each other but SURPRISE SURPRISE they are both stubborn as hell and hard headed as FUCK.

Krypt say he owns Remi from the very beginning and boy does he make that ABUNDENTLY clear on initiation night…because how else do you force the product of your obsession to move in with you other than burning down his house… while he’s still in it… then chasing him through town with your insane masked secret society brother to take care of his best friend? That is the only logical solution anyone could ever think of, duh.

I meant it when I said Krypt doesn’t have a fuck to give or a damn to spare, that man means BUSINESS.

But maybe Remi has more in common with Krypt than he realizes because he is the only person who can look Krypt in the eye and not shy away from the monsters that everyone else judges him for. The monsters that pushed him into Vile House. Maybe Remi has some monsters of his own.

In book one you find out the identity of about half of the vile boys so go into it knowing there is still some mystery at the end. Book two is out and fully worked into my “will be reading ASAP” list, Nordika, I will be SAT as soon as book three comes out and gnawing on the bars of my enclosure until the series is completed!
