Review Policies

  • I don’t tend to rate anything below 3 stars and I never rate or review a DNF.   I also review solely on vibes, and I can overlook grammatical error and spelling mistakes unless it takes me out of the book.  I tend to overthink, so if there’s a glaring plot hole, that might also cause me to rate lower.  I tend to be a plot over spice girl, so if there is at least equal parts plot and spice, I’ll be a happy camper.  If it’s straight spice, it may not be for me, but as a mood reader that could always change.

1 star: Just like when I watched Magic Mike, I will never get my time back and I probably finished it out of spite.   That said, if I rated it a 1 , most people will never know as I wont review it.

2 stars: I didn’t have a good time and if I didn’t DNF, it’s because I made it too far and couldn’t make myself stop. Again, I don’t post reviews below a 3 anywhere

3 stars: I enjoyed aspects of the book, but some part of it threw me off.  Likely, I thought it was too long or I didn’t like it, but thought it might be a mood issue, so someone else may love it.

4 stars: I enjoyed the book a lot but it may have taken a bit for me to get into it.  Once I did though, I really enjoyed it.

5 stars: If I had a great time, it’s 5 stars.  If it makes me cry, it’s 5 stars (as a Pisces, I cry a lot).  If it makes me go wtf and stare at the wall, 5 stars.  If I rate it 5 stars, I thoroughly enjoyed the book and had a great time reading it.  I will likely recommend it to everyone I know if it’s something they would be in the mood for.   Or not, depending on how much I want to make it my personality.   I give out a 5 star rating generously for many reasons.

Things in books I love:  Plus size rep, queer rep (especially sapphic stories), enemies to lovers, bully romance, step-anything romance, only one bed, hate to love, stalker, taboo, grumpy x grumpy

Things in books I don’t tend to love:  mafia, accidental pregnancy, cowboy (sorry, I’m just not in my yeehaw era), why choose romance (unless it is plot heavy), any danger to animals

Where I post my reviews: I always rate and post reviews on Goodreads, but I try to also review on Storygraph, Amazon and IG where I can and post on Library of Angels if time permits.

  • I read any and all tropes, I don’t have triggers and I like going in blind overall.

I review base off vibes - did it move me? Did it make me cry? Made me reach for my rose? Lock the door? Did I feel and connect with the characters?  It’s getting a 4.5/5.

I love spice, I love tension, I love banter.

I put my reviews on Goodreads, Instagram, Amazon, and sometimes TikTok (I’m trying to be better at that).

I like to go on a journey with the books I read because I see them play out like a movie in my head whether it’s all smut no plot or if it’s a good balance between both or if it’s the slowest burn but then tension has me feral and wanting.

  • Here’s a quick rundown of how I do things:

I know what I like — which means you won’t often see me rating a book below three stars. I hand out five-star ratings like candy, if a book gives me any kind of strong reaction. If it makes me laugh, feel giddy, tear up, or even glance over my shoulder when I know I’m home alone… that’s five stars. I’m definitely a vibe girl when it comes to reading.

I’m not a big fan of spoilers (unless I specifically ask for them), so my reviews will always be spoiler-free. I want everyone to experience the book’s surprises just like I did!

You can usually find my reviews on Goodreads, Fable, TikTok, and I’m working on sharing more over on Instagram too.

While I don’t typically read trigger warnings before starting a book myself, I always make sure to include or highlight them in my reviews if I notice content that might be important for other readers to know.

At the end of the day, my reviews are based on how a book makes me feel — the vibes, the emotions, and the overall experience. If it hits me in the feels, it’s getting the stars it deserves.

I have experience as an ARC reader, so I’m always open to working with authors and publishers who’d like an honest review!

  • I accept all tropes.

I rate my books on a STAR scale

I typically review on Amazon and GoodReads, sometimes IG

With my reviews, I never spoil a book. I make notes and statements of how well the book was written, if it made me scream or squeal, etc but I never spoil anything when it comes to the book. Instead I STRONGLY suggest someone picking up the book first.

  • Tropes I’ll least likely rate/review:

    Miscommunication Trope

    Amnesia Trope

    Love Triangles

    Book Ratings:

My rating policy is truly based off of vibes alone so do not fear 😂 For ratings I use the following star system:

5 Stars: Loved everything about the book, the reading experience, characters. Highly recommend.

4 Stars: Definitely enjoyed myself; the book was good, characters were great, and the plot was interesting to follow. Recommend for others to check out

3 Stars: Genuinely still enjoyed myself. There were a few moments either with the characters or plot where I was taken out the reading experiences, but it never took away from the experience. Still Recommend.

2 Stars: There were things to improve on either with the characters, plot, or something that I didn’t mesh well with in the book. More than likely still finished but wouldn’t recommend.

1 Star: DNF or absolutely was not a book for me.

    Here’s my following spice system:

    5 peppers: Highly explicit content.

4 peppers: Descriptive, explicit sexual content, but not consistently throughout the book.

3 peppers: Explicit content sprinkled throughout the plot.

2 peppers: Sporadic suggestive or detailed content, but overall not heavily spice

1 pepper: Few scenes with suggestive or detailing open door scenes, but overall mostly void within the story.

    Where I’ll post the review:

I’m majorly present on Instagram for current reviews, promotions, and general Bookish content.

I accept e-Arcs, Physical ARCs, and any promotional content wished to be provided.

For review requests, I’ll provide review posts on the following websites:

    • Library of Angels Blog

    • Instagram

    • Amazon

    • Goodreads

    • Story Graph (Occasionally)

    Special Notes:

When providing reviews, one important task for me when creating reviews is affording the reader full transparency without completely telling and/or sharing the plot. So, I make sure to provide any possible trigger warnings and discuss any themes I found important to highlight. Otherwise, I’m a chill reader and reviewer.

  • Where I will post the reviews

    GoodReads, Instagram, Amazon (occasionally)

I accept e-Arcs, Physical ARCs, & promotional content

My Favorite sub genres: Stalker Romance, Military Romance, Paranormal Romance, Romantasy, Mafia Romance

Tropes I’ll most likely rate & review:

    • Enemies to Lovers

    • Forced Proximity

    • Touch Him/Her & die

    • Reverse Harem

    • Sapphic romance

Tropes I’ll least likely rate & review:

    • Miscommunication Trope

    • Love Triangles

    • Accidental pregnancy

    Book Ratings:

I rate on a 1-5 star scale. I will not rate/review a 1-3 star rating on my social media platform, & I do not rate/review DNFs.

I’m a mood reader, I rate based off of vibes. If the book captivated me, literally couldn’t put it down (or physically pained me to), & I couldn’t shut up about it… it’s getting 5 stars.

{5 stars} Physically pained me to put down, absolutely devoured the book. The book kept me captivated from page one. Solid plot, character development, & pace. Literally I just won’t shut up about the book & will recommend it to everyone.

{4 stars} Enjoyed the book a lot, but it lost my attention at certain parts. Would definitely still recommend it to everyone.

{3 stars} Still enjoyed it enough to finish. Overall I felt like I was loosing interest at multiple points through out the book. Would still recommend to some.

    {2 stars} Well I finished, but I struggled! Wouldn’t recommend.

{1 stars} I really just finished this out of spite because I felt like I had to.

Spice system is on a scale of 1-5 🌶️ scale:

{5🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️} Highly explicit content intwined the entirety of the book. Straight SMUT.

{4 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️} Descriptive, explicit sexual content, consistently but the plot wasn’t lost.

{3 🌶️🌶️🌶️} Explicit content sprinkled throughout the book but doesn’t overtake the book.

{2 🌶️🌶️} Sporadic explicit sexual activity or detailed content, but overall a few chapters or scenes.

{1 🌶️} not explicit, a few suggestive, fade to black moments.
