How It Works

1. Choose a prompt below.

2. Create your short story, artwork, or design.

3. Submit via contact@libraryofangels.com with the subject line “[title of prompt] Submission]

4. Winners are chosen by our editorial team.

5. Each winner is featured in the next Gothic Angel Society issue!

What if you’re not selected?

Even if your work isn’t selected for the magazine, we still want to celebrate your voice. Many submissions will be featured on our Blog, where readers can discover and enjoy your stories, art, and designs year-round.

Open Prompts

Submission Guidelines

  • Theme alignment: Your work should tie to one of the open prompts.

  • Original work only (unpublished, unless reprint permissions are cleared).

  • Diversity welcome: We celebrate body-positive, LGBTQIA+, and multicultural voices.

  • Consent: All forms must be clearly labeled in the TW List at the top of the page (consent, non-con, dub-con)

  • Format:

    • Writing: .docx or .pdf, double-spaced, 12pt font.

    • Art/Design: high-resolution .jpg, .png, or .pdf (CMYK preferred).

  • Winners: Featured in Gothic Angel Society’s next issue, credited with bio + links.

Selection Process

  • Entries are reviewed by our editorial team.

  • Winners are chosen based on creativity, alignment to theme, and gothic-romance aesthetic.

  • Notification sent within 3 weeks of the deadline.
