ME TOO!

After several minutes of trying to form the right words to start this review, I finally have something to say — other than being speechless. Sophie Dyer knows exactly how to write a story and deliver a brutal cliffhanger. Precious Legacy had me grasping for straws, and this one had me throwing my phone down and in complete and utter shock. Please send help…

Deviant Legacy takes place during the timeline of Precious Legacy, and I loved that so much. Alanis and Roman were the focus of Precious Legacy, but there were moments in that book where we got to witness both Milo and Alvaro. There were times when I found myself wondering what was going on — but this book cleared everything up for me. Well, almost. Now there are a whole new set of unanswered questions that I know will be answered in the next book. If you decide to read Deviant Legacy, make sure read Precious Legacy first!

In all seriousness, this story took off and held me hostage until the very end. I went through a full range of emotions, and now that it’s over, I feel both sad and happy. This story had me grinning from ear to ear, laughing out loud, crying, losing my mind, and even swooning. I loved everything about this book — the characters, the plot, and the spice were all just so good. I was so excited for this book after finishing Precious Legacy, and now I am so happy that I read it. AND NOW, I NEED THE NEXT ONE!

I wish my eyes landed on Milo and Alvaro sooner, because their words alone had me done for.

Alvaro is taking over the reins from his dad and is now becoming the leader of the Bonanno Family. He runs the docks and arms dealing as one of the Notorious Five. Another part of his job is dealing with the Bratva, with whom his family has prior arrangements with. And dealing with the Bratva means dealing with Milo, who is second in command. Alvaro and Milo are enemies…but there’s something brewing between them that they can’t stop — even if they’re supposed to be each other's enemy.

All the weight of the world is now falling on Alvaro as he steps into his role as family leader. All he wants is to succeed at everything his father built — and more. His character is tense and, might I say, always grumpy. He doesn’t like showing affection and constantly fights his feelings. But beneath all that broody behavior, he has a heart. He will stop at nothing to protect those he loves. AND I love him.

Milo has been second in command to the Bratva for some time, taking care of everything that goes awry — even if he doesn’t want to. His favorite part of the job, though, is messing with Alvaro. His character is full of secrets but also so much charm, with his smooth words. This man had me confused one minute and swooning the next.

This story had the right amount of action, plot, and spice. The relationship between Milo and Alvaro was both tense and explosive. I felt the push and pull between them immediately. I honestly couldn’t get enough of them. I’m so sad that this story ended, but I’m beyond excited for the next one. After that cliffhanger, I’m hanging on by a thread. I can’t wait to see how the next book unfolds — and to hear more from these characters.
