To Our Cult Mama…

If you're anything like me in your day to day life when you hear “we have a family dynamic” related to a job you probably roll your eyes because … yea of course you do, but this is different. Library of Angels as a media house is just that, a family, and it feels like the farthest thing from work you could ever think of. You may wonder how things look so amazing, run so smoothly, and are promoted so effortlessly. There is only one good way to answer those questions and that is Angel Vasquez. Angel is an absolute POWERHOUSE and built this company and all of its other endeavors from the ground up, a dream brought to reality by someone who wanted to create a safe space for everyone who enjoys the darker side of things. It just so happens to be her birthday and the one year anniversary of LOA as a company, so I gathered some people who adore Angel to help celebrate this time.

Nina, Creative Writer:

The first time I came across Angel was through the work she’d done with the company Dark & Disturbed. To paint the picture, during the beginning of my time in the book community she was one of the first Bookstagrams that I loved the vibe of. I began just rooting for her on the other side of my screen and loved her vibes—little did I know we were to become such close friends. Her cool energy draws you in, and the kindness that lives in her spirit locks you in for life. Seeing her actualize her dreams into Library of Angels, Gothic Angel Society, and The Pomegranate and the Mic is more than just an accomplishment for my friend, but the gift of seeing a destiny unfold. It’s never easy to actualize a dream into a working project, but efforts are cosmically returned to those deserved, and there’s no one more deserving than this girl. If there’s anything to be said about Angel is that on top of her reverent work ethic is a heart that parallels her namesake. Energized by Celcius, this woman is an unstoppable force in this world. If there’s anyone that I’d champion working with and having in your life, it’s Angel. She’s the one to laugh with, be your support, guide you in any endeavor, and be the mom friend you always wanted. I’ll forever be grateful that this girl took a chance on a little old me, and took on not just a team member but a friend.  — Love you always, Nina.

How do you put into words the appreciation and love you have for someone? It’s actually one of the hardest things to articulate. You could quote songs and poetry, and it still doesn’t come close. This woman, this amazing, sweet, beautiful, strong, inspiring woman - took a chance on me, and I am forever grateful for that chance. For that opportunity, for the continued support. For the woman, who sat with me and laughed with me then stuffed my arms full with water and snacks cause she was worried about me since all I had was Red Bull. Angel is endlessly inspiring, words can’t fully capture the magnitude of her vision, the strength of her devotion, or the depth of her heart. What began as an opportunity to join the Saints of Sorrow of Library of Angels quickly became something far more meaningful. From our very first meeting, Angel’s passion was radiant. She doesn't simply run Library of Angels, Gothic Angel Society, and The Pomegranate and The Mic; she creates sanctuaries where dark romance is revered, authors are uplifted, readers are seen, and where creativity itself is treated as sacred. Amid all of the deadlines, meetings, chaos and creativity (fueled by Celcius obviously), Angel always makes sure her people come first. I first found Angel and Library of Angels on a random Threads post when they were first looking to start up their stock image services and was an avid follower from that point forward, so when a search for influencers was posted not long after, I knew I had to apply. I went into it not really knowing what to expect, but I was so amazed at the love and support that was there from Angel right from the beginning. She is so supportive of all of us on her team and made sure it was known right from the start that our well beings came first to her above everything else. But it was also her trust in us, right from the start, that made me know I had become a part of something amazing. close to when I had first joined the booksta space I had stumbled upon this beautiful page called LibraryOfAngels and became simply ✨obsessed✨from the beautiful face behind the account, to the recs, to her videos {if ykyk} and overall the energy that simply oozed out of such an incredible being - and that’s all before she followed me, before I got to know even more of her, her soul and the journey she was on, the dream she was pursuing. Angel is so much more than a bestfriend, she’s an inspiration, a true girl's girl, a lover girl, a powerhouse of a human being.. and that’s merely the beginning. Watching Angel live out her dreams and execute them with nothing shy of grace and strength will forever have me in awe, will forever leave me wanting to be better and scream as loud as I can. Where do I even start? I remember meeting Angel when she joined Dark & Disturbed as a merch rep and I thought she was stunning !!! I immediately followed and I feel like pretty quickly we became cool… little did I know eventually she would become one of my best friends. I could talk about Angel for days. I first met her at Sinners & Stardust in an elevator after having a TIME at the ball. The first thing you will notice about Angel is that she is gorgeous so of course I had to tell her that! From there we stood on a floor of that hotel and talked about everything you could imagine, with that I learned she is so much more than her beauty! She told me about her company, what she was working towards, and that I should apply. Now I was a baby on every platform with barely any followers and I just knew once she saw that she would move on to the next applicant. I couldn’t have been more wrong, she took a chance on me and that decision changed my trajectory completely. Getting the opportunity to work alongside someone who is so dedicated to their craft, hardworking, and caring is once in a lifetime and it’s even better knowing now that she is so much more than a boss, she is a friend. To know Angel is one of the greatest honors, because this woman is an absolute inspiration. I have never met such a creative, hardworking, and dedicated individual and her art is a pure reflection of those attributes. 

When Angel hired me on to the team in October 2025, it was extremely evident from day one that she was a master of her craft and her impact in the dark romance space was about to be revolutionary. The way that she takes an idea (which she has SO MANY of them), and transforms them into real life masterpieces takes a level of skill that very special people are blessed with in this lifetime. To sum up, Angel’s skills to just mere talent seems like an underrated way to describe what a powerhouse she is. Her devotion to making her dreams come true is such an inspiration, and she’s someone worth looking up to. 

To be loved by Angel is such a privilege. That woman loves so hard and will ride for her people til the end of time. Her loyalty to her tribe is admirable and it makes me so happy and proud to see the support she has in her corner. Her heart is one of the purest things to exist, and I can’t be more thankful to call her my boss, my mentor and my friend.

Spreading love is something Angel does constantly, she gives so much and this a reminder to her that it is okay to take sometimes, because the love you give should be returned to you tenfold. You have so many people who adore you and are willing to support you to the end of the earth and we can not wait to see what you do next. Your mind is powerful and one of a kind, you are eloquent, creative, and an absolute badass. Never forget who you are, because we never will. With all the love to you, our cult mama, happy birthday.
