My fucking world! The secrets this book contained! I swear at some point I put my iPad down and walked away because I was over it! Over the lies, the secrets, the heartbreak - but I couldn’t stay away. This book was like something you knew would cause you hurt and like a masochist I needed to keep going, turn the next page.
Shiloh and Nico - these two broke my heart in everything they’ve had to endure. Actually for a lot of them.
What price are you willing to pay for a better life, to play for an elite school, an elite team? How much of yourself are you willing to give? What do you do when your whole life you’ve been preparing to be someone’s perfect wife? A plaything? Someone to be seen and not someone who speaks? These are things our MMC and FMC went through. The things they endured, my heart shattered a little bit every time.
They come from different backgrounds, different social classes, and yet they are drawn to each other. Things that neither of them can speak on force them apart. The hate is so delicious. What do I say, not to give you the whole story because I want you to read this book because the way this book had me sucked into their world is insane. The secret society, the suspense, the not knowing who you can trust, and there’s more questions than answers.
“I want to touch her. I want to fill her. Even if it fucking destroys me. I want to find heaven within her. I want to run straight into damnation if it means I get to have this.”
Shiloh and Nico - their hate, their tension, the way they are drawn to each other. Knowing they can’t want each other yet they do.
Shiloh comes from a rich, elite family. Those who are promised to each other to only elevate their power after marriage. Nico comes from a home raised by his grandma, poor, working his ass off to be able to get a scholarship to make it out. They couldn’t be any more from opposite worlds yet they share the same demons. Being used by the same devils.
I loved them and cried for them. Rooted for them when they pretended they hated each other. When they fought against their own feelings.
”It’s fucking messy. Desperate and drenched in guilt and want. But it’s ours. It’s everything we've been holding back since the day we met.
Mine.”
The ending of the book left me with unanswered questions but I cannot wait for book 2 - so I can have my heart shattered a few more times.
This book is a slow burn making those moments deliciously rewarding.
”… we move — not fast, not frenzied– but like we’re trying to rewrite every bad memory with the way we fit.
Perfectly imperfect.”
It is also dark, triggering and if you need to, please read the trigger warning and protect yourself.
I will leave the blurb here:
“He was chosen. She was promised. Both were caged.”
Their worlds were never meant to collide. But obsession doesn't follow rules. And some games were never meant to be played clean. In a University where power is currency and silence is survival, playing dirty might be the only way to win.
A dark soccer thriller romance series about power, silence, and what happens when the secrets are brought to the light.
