Send Us Your Column

Our columns give us space to talk about the parts of dark romance that don't always fit neatly into an interview or feature. The things happening within our community, the conversations surrounding the books we're reading, and the personal experiences and perspectives that remind us there are real people behind all of it.

We're opening column submissions to writers who have something they genuinely want to talk about. You don't need to be a published author or professional journalist to send us an idea. You just need to know what you want to say and why you think it's worth saying.

  • Please send us a completed column

You can submit a completed column, but you don't necessarily need to have the entire piece written before reaching out.

If you have an idea you believe belongs in the magazine, pitch it to us separately via email at publishingsupport@libraryofangels.com.

  • What We're Looking For

We're looking for thoughtful, original pieces that have something to add to the conversations happening within dark romance and the communities surrounding it.

Your idea could be about books, publishing, sexuality, relationships, identity, art, fandom, community, representation, creativity, or something we haven't thought to ask about yet.

We're open to personal essays, commentary, opinion pieces, cultural conversations, and industry perspectives.

  • A Note About Publication

Submitting a column or pitch does not guarantee publication in Gothic Angel Society.

Our editorial team considers each submission alongside the theme, direction, and available space within our upcoming issues. Sometimes we may love an idea but not have the right place for it yet. If that's the case, we may ask whether you're comfortable with us keeping your pitch in mind for something later.

What Happens After You Submit?

We'll read your pitch and if we want to explore the idea with you, someone from our team will reach out. That might mean moving forward with exactly what you pitched, asking a few questions, or talking together about where the piece could go.

And if we can't find the right place for it this time, we hope you'll keep submitting anyway!

The entire reason we're opening this door is because we know there are perspectives outside of our own that deserve space in these pages. So, if you've been carrying around an idea, a question, an experience, or an opinion you can't quite stop thinking about, send it our way.

Our AI Policy

Library of Angels does not accept columns that have been generated, written, or substantially developed using generative AI.

The same applies to supporting creative materials submitted alongside your column. Please do not send us AI-generated digital artwork, character artwork, promotional artwork, or other generated creative assets as part of your submission.

We care deeply about protecting human creativity, especially within independent publishing.

If we determine that submitted work violates this policy, the submission may be immediately removed from consideration. Knowingly submitting AI-generated work as your own may also affect your eligibility to work with Library of Angels or Gothic Angel Society in the future.
