Send Us Your Artwork

From the beginning, the visual side of Gothic Angel Society has been just as important to us as the words we publish. Every photograph, illustration, piece of artwork, and tiny detail helps build the world of an issue long before someone ever sits down to read it.

Our artwork submissions are open to artists who would like their original work considered for a future issue of Gothic Angel Society. You don't need to have created something specifically for us, and you don't need to change your work to make it feel more like “our style.”

This would be a great opportunity for artists just branching out into the bookspace who would like to gain more comissions in the dark romance space. Use this platform as an opportunity to get your work in front of authors, businesses, and readers alike.

  • Types of Art We're Looking For

Submissions can include illustrations, traditional artwork, digital art, paintings, mixed media, photography, collages, fashion, and other forms of visual storytelling.

Your work doesn't need to interpret dark romance literally.

  • Where Your Work Could Live

Artwork submitted to us may be considered in a few different ways.

We may see a piece that works beautifully alongside a story, column, interview, or other editorial feature. We may want to give the artwork space to exist on its own.

That's part of why we're opening submissions.

If we're interested in using your work, we'll reach out before anything is published to discuss the piece, placement, credit, usage, and any applicable contributor terms.

Submitting your artwork does not give Library of Angels ownership of it . Your work remains yours.

  • Original Work Only

Please only submit artwork that you personally created and have the right to provide for publication consideration.

If a piece was created as part of a collaboration, commission, or project involving another creative, let us know. We want to make sure everyone who deserves credit receives it and that the appropriate permissions are in place before we move forward with anything.

Previously published or publicly shared artwork may still be considered, but we need to know where the piece has appeared before.

If you're unsure whether something qualifies, tell us about it in your submission.

What Happens After You Submit?

We'll spend some time with your work and consider whether we can see it becoming part of an upcoming issue.

Sometimes we'll know exactly where something belongs. Other times, we may love a piece before we've created the issue that feels right for it. If you've given us permission to keep your submission on file, we may come back to it later when that space finally exists.

Whether or not your artwork finds its home in our magazine, thank you for letting us see a little bit of the world through your artistic lense.

Our AI Policy

Library of Angels does not accept artwork that has been generated, written, or substantially developed using generative AI.

Please do not send us AI-generated digital artwork, character artwork, promotional artwork, or other generated creative assets as part of your submission.

We care deeply about protecting human creativity, especially within independent publishing.

If we determine that submitted work violates this policy, the submission may be immediately removed from consideration. Knowingly submitting AI-generated work as your own may also affect your eligibility to work with Library of Angels or Gothic Angel Society in the future.
